Ingredients
  

Fresh Herbs and Aromatics

  • 1 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

Sauce Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes Adjust to taste for desired spiciness.
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 1 juice of 1 lemon (optional) For a tangier flavor.

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients on a clean workspace.
  • Finely chop the parsley and cilantro and place them in a mixing bowl.
  • Mince the garlic and add it to the bowl with herbs.
  • Sprinkle the red pepper flakes over the mixture.
  • Slowly drizzle the olive oil into the bowl while stirring the herbs and garlic together.
  • Add the red wine vinegar and mix well until everything is combined.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste, adjusting as needed.
  • If you like a tangier flavor, squeeze the juice of one lemon into the sauce and mix again.
  • Let the chimichurri rest for at least 30 minutes at room temperature to develop its flavors before serving.
