  • 2 pounds chicken pieces Use bone-in, skin-on for best results.
  • 2 cups buttermilk For marinating chicken.
  • 1 cup flour For coating the chicken.
  • 1 teaspoon paprika For seasoning the coating.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder For seasoning the coating.
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper For seasoning the coating.
  • Cooking spray cooking spray To lightly coat the chicken before air frying.

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine buttermilk with chicken pieces. Marinate for at least 2 hours or overnight for best results.
  • In another bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  • Remove chicken from buttermilk and let excess drip off.
  • Dredge each piece in the flour mixture until fully coated.

Cooking

  • Preheat the air fryer for at least 5 minutes.
  • Lightly coat the chicken with cooking spray.
  • Place the chicken pieces in the air fryer basket without overcrowding.
  • Air fry the chicken at 375°F for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until internal temperature reaches 165°F.

For best results, season your coating and do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure even cooking. Always check the internal temperature for safety.
