Ingredients

For the Patties

  • 1 pound Ground Beef Choose a blend with some fat for extra juiciness.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 4 slices Cheddar Cheese For melting on top of the patties.

For the Buns and Toppings

  • 4 pieces Burger Buns Fresh buns for best enjoyment.
  • 1 cup Lettuce For topping.
  • 1 medium Tomato Sliced for topping.
  • 1/2 cup Pickles For topping.
  • Your favorite condiments

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until combined, but be careful not to overwork the meat.
  • Divide the mixture into equal parts and shape them into patties. Make a slight indent in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.

Cooking

  • Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness. In the last minute, add a slice of cheddar cheese on top to melt.
  • While the burgers are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.

Assembly

  • Place the cooked patties on the toasted buns and add your favorite toppings.

Notes

Leftover patties can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months. You can use ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option, or wrap your patty in large lettuce leaves for a lower-carb version. Consider adding BBQ sauce for sweetness or jalapeƱos for heat.
