  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 cup warm water Make sure the water is not too hot.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, instant yeast, salt, and sugar. Mix them well to ensure even distribution.
  • Slowly pour in the warm water and olive oil, stirring the mixture until a dough begins to form.
  • Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead it for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

Baking

  • After the dough has risen, punch it down gently. Transfer it to a floured surface and shape it into a loaf.
  • Place the shaped loaf in a greased loaf pan. Cover it again with a kitchen towel and allow it to rise for another 30 minutes.
  • While the dough is rising, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Once ready, bake the loaf in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  • Let the loaf cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding dried herbs like rosemary or thyme. This bread is excellent as toast for breakfast or snacks. Store leftovers wrapped tightly to maintain freshness.
