Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup rose water adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A few drops of pink natural food coloring optional
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped edible rose petals for garnish, optional
  • Optional toppings: crushed pistachios fresh berries, or additional rose petals

Instructions

  • Combine the base ingredients: In a medium saucepan, mix the heavy cream, whole milk, and granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is fully dissolved. Do not let it boil.
  • Add flavorings: Remove from heat and stir in rose water and vanilla extract. Add a few drops of pink natural food coloring if desired.
  • Cool the mixture: Let the mixture cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until thoroughly chilled.
  • Churn the ice cream: Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions, usually 20–25 minutes, until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
  • Freeze for firmness: Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until firm.
  • Serve: Scoop into bowls or cones and garnish with edible rose petals or crushed pistachios if desired.

Notes

  • Adjust sweetness: Taste the mixture before chilling and add more sugar if you prefer a sweeter ice cream.
  • Rose flavor: Rose water is strong, so start with ¼ cup and adjust to taste.
  • Chilling: Ensure the mixture is fully chilled before churning for a smoother texture.
  • No ice cream maker? Pour the mixture into a shallow container, freeze, and stir every 30 minutes until creamy.
  • Storage: Keep in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 2 weeks.
  • Garnishes: Edible rose petals, crushed pistachios, or fresh berries enhance both flavor and presentation.
