Instructions
 

  • 1 cup quinoa
  • 1/2 cup moong dal (split yellow lentils)
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp ghee (or olive oil)
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 cups water
  • Fresh coriander for garnish
  • Rinse quinoa and moong dal thoroughly.
  • Heat ghee in a pressure cooker, add cumin seeds, and let them splutter.
  • Add quinoa, moong dal, turmeric, red chili powder, and salt. Sauté for 2 minutes.
  • Add water and pressure cook for 3 whistles.
  • Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot.
