  • 2 slices slices of your favorite bread Choose sourdough, whole grain, or classic white.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Cheddar, mozzarella, or gouda work well.
  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries Ensure they are juicy and sweet.
  • 1 tablespoon butter For a golden, crispy exterior.

Optional Add-ins

  • 1 teaspoon herbs or honey For additional flavor.
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon Optional, for flavor variation.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Take two slices of your preferred bread and lay them flat on a clean surface.
  • Generously spread butter on one side of each slice.
  • On the unbuttered side of one slice, place a generous portion of cheese.
  • Scatter a handful of juicy blueberries over the cheese.
  • Sprinkle another layer of cheese on top of the blueberries.
  • Place the second slice of bread on top, buttered side out.

Cooking

  • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  • Carefully place the sandwich in the skillet and grill for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and oozing with melted cheese.
  • Remove the sandwich from the skillet, allow it to cool slightly, then slice in half and serve.

Notes

For leftovers, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in a skillet for best texture. Variations include using different fruits or adding nuts for crunch.
