- 2 liters water filtered or mineral
- 1 –2 fresh lemons sliced (with zest optional)
- 2 –3 inches fresh ginger root thinly sliced or grated
- Optional:
- Fresh mint leaves
- 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup
- Cucumber slices
Wash lemons and ginger thoroughly. Slice lemons and thinly slice or grate the ginger.
Place lemons and ginger into a large pitcher or glass jar. Add optional mint or cucumber slices.
Pour 2 liters of water over the ingredients.
Cover and refrigerate for 2–4 hours, or overnight for stronger flavor.
Optional: Strain before drinking or leave ingredients in for visual appeal.
Serve chilled throughout the day, ideally in the morning or before meals.
