Ingredients

  • 6 cups peeled and sliced apples Use a mix of sweet and tart apples for depth.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon Add more for a stronger cinnamon flavor if desired.

Topping

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup melted butter Can substitute with coconut oil for a dairy-free option.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, sugar, and cinnamon. Mix until the apples are well coated.
  • Pour the apple mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  • In another bowl, combine flour, oats, and melted butter. Stir until crumbly.
  • Evenly spread the oat mixture over the apples.

Baking

  • Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the apples are bubbly.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream on top for a delightful contrast of flavors. Can be prepared ahead of time and baked later.
