Ingredients
  

For the Filling

  • 1 cup fresh spinach (chopped)
  • 1 cup feta cheese (crumbled)
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil for sautéing
  • to taste Salt and pepper

For the Pastry

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
  • 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant.
  • Add chopped spinach and cook until wilted, about 2-3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  • In a bowl, mix the sautéed spinach with crumbled feta cheese until well combined.
  • Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface and cut it into 1-1.5 inch strips.
  • Take a strip of pastry, place about a tablespoon of the spinach and feta mixture in the center, and fold the pastry over to enclose the filling.
  • Twist the filled pastry strips and place them on a lined baking sheet.
  • Brush each twist with beaten egg to give them a beautiful golden color.
  • Optionally sprinkle sesame seeds on top for added texture.

Cooking

  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the twists are puffed and golden brown. Serve warm!

Notes

These twists pair perfectly with a side of marinara sauce for dipping.
