  • 4 pieces chicken breasts Boneless is preferred
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil For cooking
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • ½ cup onions, diced
  • 1 cup Jack cheese, shredded Can substitute with cheddar
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • fresh parsley for garnish Chopped

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • Heat the olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the chicken breasts to the skillet and sear each side for 4-5 minutes until golden brown.
  • Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add mushrooms and onions; sauté until soft, about 3-4 minutes.

Cooking

  • Stir in the heavy cream, chicken broth, garlic powder, and paprika. Mix well.
  • Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning some of the sauce over the top.
  • Sprinkle the Jack cheese generously over the chicken.
  • Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.
  • Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot!

Notes

You can prepare the sauce ahead of time and store it in the fridge for quick assembly. To reheat leftovers, use the oven or microwave and ensure it's heated through for best flavor. This dish pairs well with rice, garlic bread, or roasted vegetables.
