- 1 tbsp Dried butterfly pea flowers For blue color
- 1 cup Hot water To steep the tea
- 1-2 tsp Honey or sugar Optional to sweeten tea
- 1/2 cup Milk Any kind: dairy or plant-based
- Ice cubes For serving
- Boba Pearls:
- Amount Unit Name Notes
- 1/3 cup Tapioca pearls Black or clear
- Water For boiling pearls
- 2 tbsp Brown sugar For syrup
- 2 tbsp Warm water To mix with sugar
Steep the Tea:
In a small pot or cup, add butterfly pea flowers and pour hot water over them. Steep for 5–7 minutes. Strain and sweeten if desired. Let it cool.
Cook the Boba:
Boil water in a pot and cook tapioca pearls according to the package. Stir occasionally. Drain and rinse with cold water.
Make Syrup:
Mix brown sugar and warm water. Add cooked boba to the syrup and let it sit for at least 5 minutes.
Assemble the Drink:
Add boba to a tall glass, fill with ice, pour the cooled blue tea, then top with milk. Stir gently and serve.
