Ingredients
  

Taro Milk Tea Base

  • 1 cup taro powder
  • 1/4 cup sugar adjust to taste
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups milk (or non-dairy alternative) use almond, oat, or coconut milk for a dairy-free version

Toppings

  • 1/2 cup cooked tapioca pearls Follow package instructions to cook
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional: Food coloring for a vibrant hue

Preparation

  • Follow the package instructions to cook your tapioca pearls until they’re chewy and ready to use. Drain and rinse them under cold water.
  • In a saucepan, combine the taro powder and sugar with water. Bring to a gentle boil while stirring constantly until it thickens slightly. Remove from heat and let it cool.

Combine and Serve

  • In a large glass, combine the cooled taro mixture with milk. Stir until well blended. Adjust sweetness if needed.
  • Fill a glass halfway with cooked tapioca pearls and then add ice cubes. Pour the taro milk mixture over the top gently.
  • Mix with a straw, savor the delicious layers, and enjoy your homemade Taro Milk Tea!

Notes

Adjust the sugar according to your sweetness preference. Experiment with various toppings like jelly, fruit, or even whipped cream for a fun twist. Taro Milk Tea can be prepared in advance and stored separately.
